This is a book of essays supporting genre literature, such as science fiction, detective novels, and fantasy. I enjoy the occasional detective novel, and am a huge fan of Kurt Vonnegut. However, I prefer what is called, perhaps pretentiously, "literary fiction." I do agree with the author that fiction should be entertaining.My rating: *** (out of 5)
