Our plan today was to go to the Foundation Cartier Museum in Montparnasse to see an exhibit of Congolese art. Then we were going to meet my sister and her husband and their 3 friends who were returning to Paris from London. When we stopped for lunch it was Bill who ordered something even though he didn't really understand the menu description. It was carré de porcelet served with risotto. It turned out to be a rack of several small pork chops in a honey flavored sauce. I got a croque monsieur, which is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich.
Once we finished lunch we realized we didn't have time to visit the museum before meeting my sister, so we just began walking in the general direction of their hotel. We'll try to see the museum tomorrow. On our walk we passed by this ornate door flanked by a tile decoration.
Finally we arrived at the Majestic Hotel to meet my sister and her friends. One member of the group of 5 had treated the group to several days at a 5-star hotel and they had the most luxurious hotel room I've ever seen. It was very close to the Arc de Triomphe, within easy walking distance. The two couples shared a 2-bedroom suite. The living room was close to the size of our entire apartment. There was a small kitchen, two large bathrooms, each containing a big bathtub as well as a walk-in shower, and two very large bedrooms. There was a huge bowl of fresh fruit in the living room. The fifth person in the group had a fireplace in her suite and a correspondingly large living room and bedroom. What luxury!
