The Best Meal So Far

We started the day planning to eat at a Catalan restaurant in Montmartre.  While walking from the Métro stop to the restaurant we noticed a small restaurant that specialized in duck, Le Petit Canard.  It looked very appealing, so we added it to our list of places to try in the future.  The Catalan place turned out to have closed, so Le Petit Canard became our immediate Plan B.  We couldn't have been happier with our lunch.  Bill ordered the menu, with asparagus gazpacho, duck Parmentier (shredded duck topped with mashed potatoes), and a chocolate fondant for dessert.  I ordered a la carte and skipped the starter and dessert.  I had sliced duck breast served with mashed potatoes with nuts (what a great idea!) and mushrooms, along with green beans that came wrapped in a strip of smoked duck.  It was a great meal.  It was also the most expensive meal so far - 49€ or about $66.  Of course that included a glass of wine for each of us.

No real sightseeing today.  We'd worn ourselves out walking yesterday, so today after lunch we just picked up the food for our evening snacking and headed back to the apartment.
