Art Exhibit and Back to the 16th Arrondissement

Today was our day to see Matisse, Cezanne Picasso, the show about the art collected by Gertrude Stein and her brothers.  You'll remember that several weeks ago I bought tickets for this show at FNAC.  Anyway, we really enjoyed the show.  It's amazing that three people managed to collect such a large amount of important work.  The documentary photographs and movies showing the Stein apartments were very interesting too.  We couldn't take photos in the exhibit, but here's the poster.

In the Métro station on the way to lunch we saw this ad for chevre wraps at McDonalds.  Somehow, I don't think they'll be offering that in the United States anytime soon.

Also on the way to lunch we noticed this decorative giant beehive on the corner of a building near Les Halles.

Our mission today was to find the artesian well in Passy (the expensive 16th arrondissement) which has been providing water to Parisians since the 1850's.  The current incarnation doesn't look all that old.

We passed by a candy shop that had a beautiful display of marzipan (almond paste) shaped like mushrooms and another display that I believe is supposed to be bugs of some sort.

Today's cheese:  Castelviel
