Rodin Museum Garden

The goal for today was to see the Rodin Museum garden, located near Les Invalides.  The roses are still in pretty good shape in the garden, and of course there are lots of sculptures, including The Thinker and The Gates of Hell.

We're planning to eat at a restaurant, suggested to us by our French teacher, called Polidor.  It serves traditional French food, at communal tables, with reasonable prices.  It's featured in the Woody Allen film Midnight in Paris in the scene where Owen Wilson's character meets Hemingway.  We got a late start this morning and couldn't get there during the lunch hour, but we went to take a look at it.

We're fortunate enough to be within walking distance of a highly regarded boulangerie, Des Pain et des Idées (Some Bread and Some Ideas).  When we return home for the day, anytime between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m., we usually stop by and pick up one of their most popular breads, Pain des Amis (Friends Bread).  At that time of day, it's still warm from the oven.  It's a rustic, brown, nutty flavored bread and tastes delicious with butter from Brittany.

Today's cheese:  Roquefort
